Valentine's Day

If you could choose every single thing about the perfect Valentine's Day meal, what would it be? Let me break it down:

1. Beverages;
2. Appetizer and/or soup;
3. Main course;
4. Dessert;
5. Beverage;
6. In a restaurant or at home;
7. Inside, or dining al fresco;
8. Music? If so, what kind?
9. What are you wearing?

More Love Quotes

“The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.”
-Morrie Schwartz

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”
-Mother Teresa

Love Quote for the Day:

“Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you're just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky his is to have you.... The one who turns to his friends and says, 'that's her.'”

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's no secret I'm no fan of the commercial hype associated with Valentine's Day. I am, however, the biggest fan of love. I believe you should let those you love know you love them, because there's no guarantee we're all going to be here in the next five minutes. If today's economy does nothing else, maybe it will influence people to give gifts of a different kind. Some extra time, a hand made gift (I mean a nice handmade gift), handling a task for a loved one, a beautiful meal. If someone you loved were looking to give you a gift and had very little or no money, what would touch your heart? Are you giving a gift from the heart?

Fifty People Killed in Plane Crash Near Buffalo, NY

Sometimes, there are just no words. Please pray for the victims and their families.

Happy Birthday, JJ!

It's my nephew's 2nd birthday! It doesn't seem that long ago he was just born. He was not supposed to be born until March 24, but God had other plans. I remember that day there was terrible weather, with tornadoes blowing through the greater New Orleans area.

Maybe that's why he's such a mess, but he's so cute!

You know he has my lips, right?

Angelina's Prada Dress at the BAFTA Awards

I like it on her. What do you think?

Congratulations to Stump, 2009 Westminster Best in Show!

Stump, a 10 year old Sussex Spaniel, took home the prize, beating out some stiff competition. Not only is he the equivalent of seventy human years, he was very ill a few years ago. Read more about the champion here:

Mardi Gras Music - Al Johnson, "Carnival Time"

Quote of the Day

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.

Nadya Suleman - Part II, Dateline Interview

How in the world is she going to take care of these fourteen children? No one can answer because she doesn't know herself. She's unemployed, her mother is tired, and rightfully so, her father is probably tired too. I believe she's counting on the kindness of strangers. How can you make a conscious decision to have, as my grandmother would say, "a whole gang" of children, when you have no idea how you're going to take care of them? She laughingly said "It takes a village to raise a child", then laughed about how she was going to need a lot of villages! I swear, I want to smack her cheeky ass. She doesn't even know how she's going to feed them. She invited any authority to visit her home at any time, so they can see the love. Does she really believe that's all it takes? Love is not going to feed, clothe, educate and keep a roof over these fifteen people. If that were the case, we wouldn't have all these homeless families. I'm sure love they love each other. This just burns me up.
Okay, now I am looking at pictures of this crazy wench as a child. She was a cute little girl, and...

I TOLD y'all those were not her lips! (Oh, yes I heard her deny it to the producers. That is a fuggin lie.) You know what else? I don't think that's her original nose. I'm telling you, she's trying to morph into Angelina but she just looks like a freakshow, with her crazy a$$. She was pretty before she did all that to herself. Why don't people leave well enough alone?

Ann Curry said that Suleman was not paid for this interview.

This is neither here nor there, but the children are just beautiful.

This is not finished unfolding, and I suspect it's going to be ugly.

Pray for these children, and their crazy assed, trifling mama.

To be continued.

Mardi Gras Facts - Tradition - Greasing of the Poles

Yes, you read right - pole greasing. You see, at one time Mardi Gras revelers on Bourbon Street were getting so caught up, they were actually climbing the poles all the way up to the balcony. Cheeky, huh!

Well, the Royal Sonesta Hotel started a tradition that's now practiced all along Bourbon Street. Each year, at the start of Mardi Gras, there is a pole-greasing ceremony, where containers of petroleum jelly are brought out on trays. The jelly is then scooped out by costumers and rubbed up and down the pole to ensure separation of the wild people on the ground from the wild people in the balcony. The pole rubbing is very dramatic - glean from that whatever you will, or view it here:

Have you ever experienced Carnival partying from a balcony? How about in the Quarter? What is your favorite Mardi Gras experience?

For those of you who have never experienced Mardi Gras but may be curious, what would you like to know about the holiday? I will answer your questions accurately and to the best of my abilty.

'Cause it's Raining in the Big Easy!

Remember this?

Nadya Suleman - This Broad is Crazy, and Those Are NOT her Lips!

Obviously, she is severely mentally ill, and here's what I also think: she's trying to be Angelina! The dyed, dark hair, the lip filler (I know real lips when I see 'em), and all those babies. Mark my words, it's going to come out that she has some unnatural obsession with Angelina. Well, I guess because she has the most children, in her sick mind she's 'won.' What infuriates me is, who suffers as a result of her selfish, sick behavior? Fourteen innocent children, and the parents who seemed to give her a good life and now, when they should be taking it easy, have to give it up as a result of her craziness. What went wrong?
